Conversion
To work out how your grade would have looked under the previous system use the following calculation:
Take off 700, divide by 7.5.
For example, if your ECF grade is 1500:
1500 - 700 = 800 - divide by 7.5 = 106

Mastering the game
Grandmaster (GM) - a FIDE grade of at least 2,500
International Master (IM) - a minimum FIDE rating of 2,400
FIDE Master (FM) - a minimum FIDE rating of 2,300 or more
Candidate Master (CM) - a minimum FIDE rating of 2,200
