DECEMBER 20, 2009: There will be no chess this coming Friday but if anyone wants to play the following Friday, New Year's Day, they should ensure that one of the club's key-holders, Bill Partridge, Donald Close, Mick Plumb, Keith Davies or Philip Wake, is present. On January 8, there is a C team match v Portsmouth B at home so the club is open as normal.
DECEMBER 19, 2009: A gallant rearguard action by Andrew McDougall in his adjourned game against Cosham A in division one of the Portsmouth league, but John Wheeler eventually triumphed, meaning Chichester/Bognor lost 3.5.2.5. It's going to require some extraordinary performances in the second half of the season if Chi/Bognor are going to win the title from Cosham, who have a commanding lead.
DECEMBER 18, 2009: Bognor/Chichester's division one clash with Cosham A is interestingly poised, at 2.5-2.5, with one match to play, between Andrew McDougall (a pawn down) and John Wheeler.
